The Age of Elegance series returns with a focus of orchestral gems from the Baroque era. At its helm is Stephen Layton, the Director of Music at Trinity College, Cambridge, best known for his award-winning discs of choral music. He will be joined by Welsh soprano Elin Manahan Thomas in performing Corelli’s Concerto Grosso in G Minor, Pachelbel’s Canon and Gigue, Handel’s arias and Concerto Grosso, plus Albinoni’s Adagio. British conductor Paul Goodwin makes a stop at the Petronas Philharmonic Hall to lead the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra in a triumphant rendition of works by Kozeluch, Arne and Mozart. Aptly entitled Forgotten Glories, this concert will also record the MPO’s collaboration with horn player Lin Jiang who takes the score for Haydn’s Horn Concerto No 2.
