<p>In the concept sketches of the X3, the car looks mean. That sleek feline face, glowering headlamps, gigantic rims and thuggish shoulders combine to say,</p>

<p>As I rolled into the Peachtree Mansion in the glass and steel commercial district of downtown Atlanta, the physical model that was parked out front bristled with the same kind of energy, that enigmatic brooding of a wolverine caught in melancholic repose.</p>
