Diamonds, they say, are a girl’s best friend, and a recent afternoon tea, hosted by The Peak and jeweller Elegance Club’s Managing Director, Dato’ Tracy Ong, certainly put that to the test. Held in Elegance Club’s gallery in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur – an oasis of calm despite being situated along the perennially busy Jalan Maarof – a select group of ladies, all of whom share The Peak’s appreciation for the finer things in life, enjoyed a private viewing of some extraordinary jewellery, fashioned from amazing gemstones and the finest craftsmanship. As they sipped on wine, nibbled on canapés and were entertained by music piped in through the high fidelity Steinway Lyngdorf sound system, the atmosphere turned glittery, as there was only admiration for the sparkling beauties on display. The most instructive thing? A girl’s best friend not only shines but comes, as well, in different hues, all as tempting as the other.
