Datuk Masidi Manjun, Sabah’s Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, was born in the ethnic diversity of Ranau, a town located at the foothills of the mighty Mount Kinabalu. He earned a law degree from the London University but his career diverged into government, first as permanent secretary to the Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sports from 1983 to 1987 and later in the Sabah Attorney General’s Department as a Senior State Counsel. His eclectic experience growing up would explain his affable and worldly personality, where he is equally at ease in social and official company.
