The Peak’s inaugural CEO Dinner Series was launched in true artistic style at the residence of Dato’ Ir Dr Dennis and Datin Shalini Ganendra’s resortlike home in Petaling Jaya.
THE ELEMENTS
The Hosts: Dato’ Ir Dr Dennis Ganendra and Datin Shalini Ganendra. The Venue: The couple’s beautiful resort-like home in Petaling Jaya. The Evening: Cocktails and canapés and dinner were held in two separate rooms, flanking the infinity-edged swimming pool, followed by postprandial drinks, which were taken on the terrace upstairs. Canapés: Cheese twist and mixed herb sticks, crab cakes with avocado salsa, mini seafood vol-au-vents, baby octopus on kyuri and vegetarian maki rolls. Flowers: White Oncidium orchids paired with Monstera deliciosa leaves.
THE GUESTS
HE Simon Featherstone, the British High Commissioner, and Gail Featherstone.
Tengku Dato’ Sri Azmil Zahruddin, CEO of Malaysia Airlines, and Datin Sri Salena Ibak.
Dato’ Richard Curtis, Group Managing Director of Cahya Mata Sarawak, and Datin Teh Lip Pin.
Dato’ Garry Chua, Group Managing Director of the Rotol Group.
Dato’ Ambiga Sreenivasan, Chairman of Bersih and former President of the Malaysian Bar Council.
Introducing a more dressed-down dress code for The Peak’s inaugural CEO Series Dinner (lounge suit as opposed to black tie), guests came looking visibly more relaxed, although many attributed it to the beautiful, resort-like setting of the Ganendra residence, where Dato’ Ir Dr Dennis of Minconsult, one of Malaysia’s most respected engineering consultancies, and his elegant gallerist wife, Datin Shalini, played the roles of host and hostess to perfection; setting, indeed, a high benchmark for the other CEO Series Dinner hosts to follow.
