Self-made tycoon and Executive Chairman of i-Berhad, Tan Sri Datuk Lim Kim Hong, is treading the path of enlightenment with his latest project – the ambitious knowledge hub in Shah Alam known as i-City.
Diana Khoo reports.
Much has always been made of light. From the pale glow reflected off a pearl-like moon to the brilliant flames that jump and dance from a bonfire, there is something about light that attracts. And, for those who have recently visited the new-ish township of i-City in Shah Alam’s Section 7 area, located in between Sungai Rasau and Bandar Baru Klang in Selangor, it is safe to say that this holds true.
For, by night, the brilliant glow of millions of LED lights, mounted onto synthetic maple and pine trees, illuminating the land space has already attracted 70,000 (and counting) visitors, drawn like moths to the proverbial flame, who all come to see the latest nocturnal attraction of Shah Alam. It has also caught the eye of the Ministry of Tourism, which is currently looking to promote i-City actively as a major night-time tourism attraction in Malaysia.
